I've tried my best by e-mailing everyone on my "Stanton" contact list about this site. Hopefully more people will find their way here.

We had a great time together (I think). Don't let the history and memories get forgotten.

Tony

I don't think anybody will forget Stanton and the people who worked there.

After 34 years it was 'in my blood' and a bit like Blackpool rock if you cut it in in half, it said Blackpool all the way through. A lot of people who worked at Stanton with us were like that.

Stanton gave people a good living and we shouldn't forget that. Yes there were difficult times but there were lots of good times as well.

Stanton gave us some good skills and we should now use those to begin our new lives away from Stanton.

I will never forget my days at Stanton. I owe it a lot but we have to move on.

To anyone who reads this remember to keep in touch

Hi Steve.

The main thing I can thank Stanton for was teaching me PLC programing. OK most of it was learning to fly by the seat of your pants Very Happy

It all started with a blazing row with John Henshaw in the casting shop. I couldn't get the transporter to do anything! I stormed off saying this is why we want to reprogram it! "You'd better get on with it then". OPPS remove size 10 boot from size 8 mouth, I'd really put my foot in it.

The company stood by me while I tried diferent ways to solve the problems. Some worked, some didn't. The best bit was the multi-decision logic, I was sat at home having a drink (DRUNK) with a friend when I finally sorted the problem out Cool

Stanton would give you the rope to hang you're self if you were daft enough to take it Shocked

It was fun though!

I had 8 years at 18 ft.  Without a doubt the best 8 years of my working life.
Dont get me wrong I probably did'nt think so at the time, but hindsight tells me it was.
I made all my best friends at Stanton.
It is 30 years since I worked there, but I still have the fondest memories of it.
