what is happening to the current land which has been sold?

as i work for wards who provided the scrap for stanton im still in close contact with st gobain i was told that spring urban was relying on the sale of the scrap from cmp etc when the scrap prices was very high but due to the recession and the massive fall in scrap prices they couldnt generate enough money to go ahead with buying the site
Tony

Pitty the scrap prices didn't fall before we were all on the scrap heap.

Wards milked Stanton ! ! ! !

The scrap was crap, I had to drive the scrap handling cranes out of the way when the scrap heap was on fire ! ! ! ! Good iron, I don't think so Evil or Very Mad

Every bit of unsalable crap was sent to Stanton

Have a look at http://www.erewash.gov.uk/Environ...k/Stanton+Regeneration+Update.htm

OK, but if Wards had kept the price resonable and the quality good, many of us would still be in jobs we enjoyed!

The end result was Wards lost a good and regular customer. We lost our jobs, other factors came in to it I know, but Wards didn't help at all!

PS I know more about Wards than you may think Twisted Evil
And unlike  some people I know, I wasn't on a back-hander
