Apprentices

It would be interesting to hear from past apprentices of Stanton and other companies of thier memories of thier apprenticeship days.

I'm not a Stanton apprentice (ICI), but we all went through the mill, or the backsmith's trough as in my case Very Happy

OK don't wind the leadhand electrician up on a Monday morning, he's the GRINCH!

We all had the bone idle tradesmen that used us as skivies, the "Bastard" who would be looking after you even though you didn't know it. The one's that would take time with you and teach you, plus the one's that just used you as a mate so you learned F all.

Many years after my appreticeship I went to DeMontford University to learn how to train others. Since then I've only had only one apprentice, but I hope I helped him.
I'm now qualified as a trainer of trainers.

P.S.
The "Bastard" showed his true colours when I'd just finished wiring a wagon inspection pit. The works painter "Rembrandt" then painted it. He just sprayed over the flameproof light fittings and then told the Bastard "get your lad to clean the paint off them". He threw Rembrandt headlong in to the pit and told him to get F*"kin on with it Very Happy
